About

"When a song is played, it is meant for the listener, not for the artist. It should take you to a place to experience something you otherwise couldn’t. Whether that be grief, joy, the need to dance, or just to shout, the artist’s job is to make a canvas for the mind to paint on. As a musician, songwriter, and music therapist, who has been influenced by all types of music across the world, I know music’s most powerful when it allows us to feel. I hope, more than anything, that every single musician I play with, and all enjoyers of music, will be able to experience something they needed."

Artistic Statement

Owen Miller is a third-year scholarship student currently attending the Berklee College of Music. A multi-instrumentalist and radio-played songwriter, Owen specializes in the drum set and percussion, but can also play guitar, ukulele, piano, and bass, as well as sing. He's in bands that span the genres of Bluegrass, Rock, R&B, Country, Motown, and more, with his music bringing him on all sorts of adventures, from the stages of the IBMA festival in North Carolina, to the smaller local venues, such as the legendary Club Passim in Boston.

While he loves performing, Owen's real passion is spreading the power that music has. As a studying music therapy student at Berklee, he has gained training in taking care of others through music in various ways, including hospice care, neurological music therapy, and more. He hopes to continue doing this work for the rest of his life, and to spread the power of music to every walk of life.
